The Stanford Alumni Association exists to help alumni stay connected to Stanford, and to each other. 

Stanford BEAM

Stanford Career Education is now known as BEAM (Bridging Education, Ambition, and Meaningful Work). At BEAM, connections are the heart of our model. By empowering connections, we create a culture of happenstance to help bridge students' education, ambition, and meaningful work.


Handshake is an online platform that provides Stanford students with opportunities, connections, events, and content related to their career aspirations and interests. Employers also access Handshake to post positions, create events, and connect with students.

Pursuing Meaningful Work

The Pursuing Meaningful Work handbook includes information on preparing for and conducting a job search, internship/summer job search strategies, resumes/cover letters, interviews, evaluating/negotiating job offers, and life after Stanford.

SAM (Stanford Alumni Mentoring)

Stanford Alumni Mentoring (SAM) is an online program that:

  • Connects students to alumni worldwide in ongoing, one-on-one mentoring relationships
  • Provides students with career guidance and insights about life during and after Stanford
  • Helps students navigate graduate school

Global Engineering Program

Global Engineering Programs aims to enhance engineering education by providing students with an opportunity to learn about technology and engineering globally, to build professional networks, and to gain real world work experience in a culturally diverse and international environment.
